Monticello Motor Club goes rogue...

MMC, one of my favorite tracks, played host to Ryan Tuerck, and what a show it was.

I remember a time when MMC was trying to be a snooty private club, and didn't want to allow us lowly peasants to run their club... in fact if memory serves me correct the club members actually kicked us off the track! We were cast out to use the "lower" track configuration for the rest of the day.  That was October '08 and here's some video:
.

Then when the recession started to threaten their viability, they loosened their standards a bit I guess... Here's some video of the last time I was at MMC, April 2010 with the NJ BMW CCA:

And now drifting. Sanctioned by the club president. My my how far we've come!

For 2011, MMC is no longer open to clubs. MMC is such a great facility, such a well designed track, that it would be a shame if the only way to experience it would be with a $100k membership package. I guess our money was good when times were bad. Now we're not welcome. Boo.

Soooo.... What has this experience shown us? When an opportunity to drive a world-class track appears, don't pass it up. It could be your first, last, and only chance. Tomorrow it could be reserved for the rich (MMC), turned into a golf course (Bridgehampton), or shut down indefinitely.

Check out MMC's website for more info on this great venue.
Check out D-Up Drifting for more Monticello Mayhem.
