Montoya the madman has left a trail of broken race cars and spare parts behind him on his charge to the front. His aggressive style has left everyone else behind, and most of the other DP competitors looking for blood. Turner's M3 chances for victory have dwindled to slim, as gearboxes problems ruined what was turning out to be a stellar maiden voyage for the #94 BMW. It's far from over, below is the start in case you missed it!
Don't forget that LIVE audio coverage is available on Grand-Am's website!
I'll consider this an instructional video. Take special note of his seating position and hand movements. A secret to speed is turn the wheel as little as possible, and Boris obviously has that move down. Also, notice his eyes. That's situational awareness boys and girls, and that's why his office has a cage and yours has a mouse pad...
Godspeed Mr. Yates. And thanks again for directing Bullitt, hence giving us car junkies one of the best chase scenes ever filmed. You have and will continue to provide inspiration for all of us...
Although Mini's Dakar hopes were trashed along with their Countryman; things are looking up for Mini's WRC entry, scheduled for the second quarter of 2011.
OK, I get it. Top Gear (US version, of course) leaves me convulsing in pain more and more each time I watch it. It would be downright intolerable if it wasn't for Tanner Foust.
It's over for Mini at Dakar. They pulled the plug today after Chicherit rolled Saturday, which was a scheduled "rest" day.
Chicherit sustained a head injury, he should recover.
The Mini was not so lucky. Without the necessary replacement parts, the team is packing it up.
Once again, Sports Car Digest has delivered a fine read on one of my favorite subjects: vintage Porsche racing. With this year's Daytona right around the corner, why not take a stroll down memory lane and remember a simpler time in racing?
Not exactly first-class accommodations, but it is secure! The Formula D show submitted their drift weapons and assorted equipment to the lords of the docks, also known as the Long Beach longshoremen, to be loaded for the ocean portion of their trek to Abu Dhabi.
Peterhansel takes the stage win after Sainz has some navigational issues, and moves up the leader board as well. It's a long way to the finish, click the video for more action!
Sometimes more is, well, just more. Anyone who says size doesn't matter probably wasn't that big. We are still talking about motorsports, so take it easy.
We at BlendLines are determined to expose our readers to all forms of motorsport insanity, so here's today's dose of motorhead junkie juice.
A big dose.
"Really? I didn't know this truck'll do ninety miles'n hour!!"
I'm always on the hunt for tremendous feats of performance from vehicles that are sometimes overlooked as tuner platforms. It's where you find the true enthusiast, the guys who innovate, who take the non-conventional path because it IS more difficult.
As the snow melts over the last few days, the somewhat unseasonable warm weather has brought me thoughts of springtime, when engines will awaken from their winter slumber, tires can sing a sweet screech yet again, and RPM's can be set free once more... yes the Rolex 24 at Daytona is right around the corner.
If you're a guy like me, you probably dream of being able to have a garage big enough to have your own lift. Since I live in North Jersey, and in a 100+ year old home with a equally old and decrepit garage, I always thought this was going to be a little out of my reach.
