Big Rig Rallyin'

Keeping all that tonnage under some semblance of control is impressive. I see they have ample acceleration, handle considerably well, and you have to respect that suspension travel, but how well do you think they stop?
.

Know yer roots, boy!

Before the Carrera 4, before the 959, there was the Dakar winning 953.

Dakar 2011 - Parting Shots...

Dakar 2011 has come to an end, and VW once again has emerged champion. Here are some of my favorite shots from Dakar.com -

Dakar Stage 7... VW triumphant 1-2-3

Terranova rolls his X3 and is forced to retire, Peterhansel has more tire trouble, and the VW drivers are challenged only by their own teammates.

Bye Mini, nice try!

It's over for Mini at Dakar. They pulled the plug today after Chicherit rolled Saturday, which was a scheduled "rest" day.
Chicherit sustained a head injury, he should recover.
The Mini was not so lucky. Without the necessary replacement parts, the team is packing it up.

Dakar Stage 6 - 01/7/11

An all-out thrash grants Sainz a stage win on day 6, and Peterhansel's punctures continue to take their toll.

The helicopter shots really give you an idea of the scale of Dakar.

BMW success! Stage 5 Dakar 2011

Peterhansel takes the stage win after Sainz has some navigational issues, and moves up the leader board as well. It's a long way to the finish, click the video for more action!

Mass + Speed = ...well, you decide!

Sometimes more is, well, just more. Anyone who says size doesn't matter probably wasn't that big. We are still talking about motorsports, so take it easy.
We at BlendLines are determined to expose our readers to all forms of motorsport insanity, so here's today's dose of motorhead junkie juice.
A big dose.
"Really? I didn't know this truck'll do ninety miles'n hour!!"

Sainz extends Dakar lead - Stage 4 coverage

Day 3 Dakar action...

Wow! The only competitor that can challenge and edge ahead of Sainz and his Touareg is... Nasser saleh Al-Attiyah in HIS Touareg?

Dakar coverage - Stage 2 - 01/03/2011

Sainz in his Touareg looks unstoppable.
Can Peterhansel step it up and give the Spaniard a run for his money?

WTF is up with Dakar in Argentina?

I'm still trying to accept the fact that the Dakar rally is being hosted by Argentina and Chile.
