Absolutely Useless #10

We haven't done an absolutely useless in a while. So what better way to resurrect a classic theme by defiling and otherwise stellar vehicle with some light wheels.
And when I mean light, I mean LED lights. There is no practical use for this other than to garner attention from 16 year old girls, rappers, and of course police.
10 points for the balls it takes to drive this. Minus 100 points for doing it to a BMW.
NOT the car to use if you have outstanding warrants...

Moscow DRIFT

Yup. I'd say that our Russian brothers have embraced all the great things we've enjoyed here in the US for so long. I'd venture to say that they have even improved on a few things. Like reckless driving and felony evasion charges. You try these moves on a US freeway and you'll be enjoying 3 hots and a cot for the next few months.

No time for a knish on this run...

Let's fully understand this now. This is the fastest RECORDED and DOCUMENTED lap of NYC.
I drove up and down the Henry Hudson every day for years. In the day and at night. In rush hour traffic and on holiday mornings when the road was completely empty. In fast exotic cars, ultra-luxury sedans, and yes even in SUV's.
Take it from me; this video was no easy feat. Yet, I am intrigued to see if it's possible to beat.
What do you think? A BlendLines sponsored attempt at breaking the record? How about the fastest time from the tolls at the GWB (lower level, of course) to terminal 4 at JFK International Airport? Midtown Tunnel westbound thru the heart of NYC and finishing at the outbound Lincoln Tunnel helix?
Ideas? Suggestions? Talk us out of it? Pro-bono legal when we get thrown in the clink?
Anyone out there have an EZ-Pass we can borrow?

Final Lap ALMS Sebring GT2

May and June are long months this year for ALMS fans. So what do we do, we relive great race moments, like this breathtaking final lap battle for GT2 victory in Sebring 2007. Just as the #2 Audi R10 takes the checkers for Audi Sport the real battle begins. After 12 hours of connecting apexes it comes down to an Italian and a German, car that is. If you’re a little ADD, like myself, skip to 3:05 and hang on to your seat. Ed una bella vittoria

It ain't all glamour...

Nothing compares to the carnage at a drift event. I can't think of a more punishing event for any vehicle. The net is full of videos that show the full-lock sideways action, tire smoke billowing like cotton balls behind the rear wheels. Girls in go-go boots at the starting line, strobe lights and neons flashing in the background. All glamour, right? Not exactly. Sometimes things go wrong. Sometimes you need to get your ride back into shape to make the next run. Here's the other side of a drift weekend...

It's sort of like a French Fast and the Furious...

I'm always on the lookout for unique perspectives on our car culture addiction. What's most interesting to me is how individuals manage to combine their professional lives with their love of cars and all things speed.

1/10th the size, same amount of fun...

I think everyone at some point or another (or maybe currently) have had radio controlled cars. I just don't remember them looking this good. Maybe it's because we never raced them at night. It probably was the lack of Rockstar energy drinks...

Let it SNOW!!! **UPDATED**

It's still snowing. It's been snowing since early afternoon here in New Jersey. 40 MPH winds were pushing drifts to hip level a few hours ago. Who knows how deep it is now...

Absolutely Useless File - #3

No, this guy did not snap an upper control arm. No, his shock tower didn't fail and pop through his speaker cover. It's called "Demon Camber" and is all the rage in Japan; and of course, now making an impact in California. If what you mean by impact is your kidney colliding with your collar bone.

Smokey Nagata - Our Favorite Japanese Outlaw

What do you do if you feel that racing, drifting, and drag racing isn't enough to promote your go-fast bits? How about 200+ MPH runs on public roads? Then YouTube the videos for all to see. Then get arrested. Oh yeah, then do it on multiple continents.

UAE Drift, this time not on city streets or in traffic...

You gotta love anyone who drifts an e30. I'm so tired of watching super-low S13's tear up their rubber, this was such a welcome find!

SAVE THE 'RING!

I'm so tired of this recession. The current economic situation will definitely affect how many track days I do next summer, but now one the hallowed grounds which I dream about is being threatened?
