Nasty Winter Blending Formula

When someone says "Nordscheife" the last thing think of is snow. Unless of course your Andy Gulden. Then you think ice. And snow tires. And an open Formula car?

Winter Driver Safety and Education

In the dog days of summer, sometimes it's hard to think that soon it will be winter again... Are you ready?

Now that's an epic blend...

Ken Block is a blending fiend.
DC Shoe mogul, WRC driver, Gymkhana viral YouTube pilot...
Overall generally a crazy guy who loves cars.
Did I mention he's an American? Hence the video choice on this July 4th.
Enjoy Ken's take on the ultimate winter ride on what could be the warmest day of the year for you.
Envy his ability to mix work and pleasure. I would imagine it's really easy for him to get up for "work" every day...
Yup, not only does he blend motorsports and life better than most, his job makes your's seem firmly in the realm of SUCK.

The new M5... the drool starts here...

Ahh, the M5. There are very few cars that stir the soul as effectively as BMW's M5. Maybe the fact that it's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Until that exhaust note hits your ears, you may mistake it for your neighbors vanilla 528i. Ok you may not, but some people would be fooled!

Bentley Ice Record

A Bentley convertible. On ice. With a parachute. Sorry, as cool as this could be, it SHOULD be filed under absolutely useless.

Ski-jumps and drop-tops

Yup, more ice and snow. Makes me think to a better time, when I can again take to the streets with my top down, rpm's up, wind in my hair... why wait? Sometimes driving with the roof folded back in snow is NOT the dumbest thing you can do with a convertible in winter... kids, don't try this at home!

IRC Rally Monte Carlo 2011

IRC reminds me of vintage Rally, minus the grainy picture. It's so much more fun to watch than WRC, so much more... I don't know... more grassroots?

Let it SNOW!!! **UPDATED**

It's still snowing. It's been snowing since early afternoon here in New Jersey. 40 MPH winds were pushing drifts to hip level a few hours ago. Who knows how deep it is now...

Yet Another Winter Project

Winter. It's when we look for racing-themed projects to dive into when it's cold and snowy. A couple of years ago I started renewing my interest in 1/32nd scale slot cars. Let's just say that once again, it got a little out of hand.

Only 1 Cure for Winter Blues....

Winter took it's first swing at me Tuesday morning. I woke up to see a light dusting on the ground, nothing to worry about mind you; just enough to cement the fact that I have December blues.
What makes me feel better? How about some in-car video from some of last summer's track days?

A few words on tires.....

I've been in the business of cars for over 17 years. Countless times I hear comments such as "I have all-wheel drive, so I can drive in snow" or "My car is rear-wheel drive so I need to get a car I can drive in the winter".
And every time my answer is the same - GET DEDICATED WINTER TIRES!!! Some examples:
