Group B - Still too fast to race

Quite possibly the most comprehensive, intense, all encompassing video on the golden age of rally racing. Excellent sounds, great in-car videos, tremendous commentary by some guy with a British accent.
What more could you ask for?
OK, it's an hour and 16 minutes long, but OH-SO worth it!!!

Shiny side up, please...

I'm not really into crash videos. But in this case, it shows the structural rigidity built into rally cars. On it's lid, and I didn't notice any glass broken! Granted, as far as rollovers go, this one was gentle. But the point is still made: A properly executed cage can save your life.
It just does NOTHING for egos...

What is it that makes the sound of that 5 cylinder turbo so sexy. Here's some more pure sound for your listening pleasure... Exhaust note so sweet, makes the awful video quality worth it...

Audi Sport Quattro by Dahlbäck

Even an occaisional visitor to BlendLines can tell that we're big fans of the UR Quattro. The sound of that turbocharged 5 cylinder, the flared fenders, the manual lockable diffs. What's not to love? Sure they were slightly electrically challenged, but was there anything in the 80's that wasn't?
The Uber-UR (is that even allowed?) is of course the Sport Quattro. Clad in Kevlar composite body panels, the chassis was also shortened and more power was made standard. In the hands of tuners like Dahlback, the car was capable of truly monstrous performance.
Enjoy the clip, and turn it way up!

Dahlbäck - And you thought the Swedes only played with Volvo's and Saab's!!

This is one of my all-time favorite YouTube finds. A little old, yes. Timeless classic in my book!
