SAVE THE 'RING!

I'm so tired of this recession. The current economic situation will definitely affect how many track days I do next summer, but now one the hallowed grounds which I dream about is being threatened?

My daily blog-scouring stopped and I sobbed when I read this post on Crank&Piston. Actually being able to drive just one lap on the Nordschliefe has been on my bucket list for a long time. Now in a theme that we have gotten quite used to in the current "norm"; mis-management and false promises have endangered what could be considered a mecca to true motorsport enthusiasts.
Here's the dirt:
May of this year the Nurburgring race track and park was rented out to two private investors, Kai Richter & Jorg Lindner. They hatched some hair-brained plan to expand the facility, making it into some sort of quasi Las Vegas destination.
Well low and behold the business plan was based on bogus numbers. Seems like the investors backed out when it became public that the data showing over 2 million visitors each year to the 'Ring was actually closer to 350,000. OOPS!!  See the full article HERE from Jalopnik.com.
So now the 'Ring is over 400 million Euros in debt, the government is involved (which will only worsen the situation) and the Green Hell is currently in pure hell.
What can you do?

Careful, apparently anyone who questions the leadership of the Nurburgring have had their homes ransacked, and legal action threatened. So much for searching for the truth and holding someone accountable....

Either way, awareness is the best I can do right now, as I really don't have a spare 400 million Euros laying around....

This link tells the whole story, first in German, then gracefully (not really) translated by fellow supporters:
