Yet Another Winter Project

Winter. It's when we look for racing-themed projects to dive into when it's cold and snowy. A couple of years ago I started renewing my interest in 1/32nd scale slot cars. Let's just say that once again, it got a little out of hand.
Here are some quick facts:
75% of the vehicles are working slot cars.
All the scenery was custom made, except for the trees, those were "tree kits", mostly from Woodland Scenics.
The "mountain" was made using spray foam insulation over a lexan frame, then painted and dressed up to look real.
The track itself is a Ninco track. I chose it for it's width and durability. Also easy to clean.
The elavation change portion of the track is the only section actually attached to the base. Everything else is movable (to an extent).
It's fun to see what household/everyday objects can be modified to use in a layout. Get creative!
It is not solely a show piece. It's used regularly and destroyed occasionally by a wayward Porsche at mach 2. That's part of the fun for me. Rebuilding allows me to accept certain imperfections as part of the layout's development.

This is what happens when insomnia collides with eBay!

Helpful links that made the project possible. Aside form eBay of course.
