The question is:
If you had (basically) unlimited resources, what would your car collection look like?
Would you concentrate on a single make?
A single period of history?
American muscle or vintage European?
Race cars or production?

Well, if you are Ralph Lauren you don't have to choose. You get to have it all. You get to have a staff of four to help you keep it all straight. You get to have a professionally decorated museum to showcase your toys. He
is Ralph Lauren after all.

Dedicated rooms for each make? Color keyed to boot! Oh, and he drives each one. Every car is kept in working order, registered and ready to run.

Many of the cars are (gasp) not original. Some have been optimized to suit Ralph's whim. A little cream added to classic Mercedes silver. A Jaguar painted in non-original B.R.G. (British Racing Green for you non-British car guys) is not a sin. It's an expression of taste that we should all embrace. He has the means, the will, and the fact that he ACTUALLY DRIVES them is impressive enough to earn the right to finish them in whatever color he chooses!

Did I mention that Ferrari's should be red? |
Cars from every era are represented. Each one has history, not only to us as collectors and enthusiasts, but to him in some sort of personal manner. Ralph, you are my hero...
